Damortis, is an abandoned station only a few hundred metres from the coast, next to the main highway from Dagupan, to San Fernando La Union.
An exceptional size of building, three platforms, located quite a distance from the town itself. The reason for the lavish facilities was this was the main form of transport to the hill resort of Baguio, where trains and buses connected. There were several abortice attempts for a line up the mountains, involving a rack line and numerous tunnels for the fearsome ascent. Apparently some tunnels were built high up in the ranges, a worthy topic for investigation. All these pictures were taken on 1/5/09.
